Fitness Programs

We look forward to helping you reach the health and fitness goals you have set for yourself. Registration is required for all fitness programs listed below. Member & non-member rates apply. Call Kelly or Sarah at (269) 639-2949 for details or to reserve a space. 

NEW! Fit Fun Friday
Start your weekend off on the right foot! Each class will feature different workouts, all designed to increase your heart rate, burn calories and build muscle. Fridays, 8:30 to 9 a.m.  

Abs, Hips & Thighs
Your posture, how you carry yourself and how you "stand tall" is all about your abs, hips and thighs. Mondays and Wednesdays, 8:15 to 8:45 a.m. 

Advanced Bootcamp
Get your heart pumping! Cardio and resistance training that includes free weights, TRX suspension training, interval training, and body weight exercises. Mondays & Wednesdays (choose one session), noon to 12:30 p.m. or 6 to 6:30 p.m.

Armed & Dangerous
Yes, you can have those sculpted arms you’ve always dreamed of. This class is upper body training - at its very best. Mondays & Wednesdays, 9 to 9:30 a.m.
 
Chair Yoga
Modified yoga for people who cannot easily get up and down from the floor and who need a little extra stability. Wednesdays, 1 to 1:50 p.m.

Intro to Circuit Training
A beginner/intermediate level program sure to tone and strengthen your whole body. Free weights and resistance bands will be used. Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6 to 6:30 p.m.

Playground
Getting in shape can be fun! Incorporate classic schoolyard games with effective exercises to build muscle and improve balance and agility. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30 to 6 p.m.

Total Body Circuit
Build and strengthen muscles you didn’t know you had. This class is for all levels - everyone is welcome to enroll. Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10 to 10:45 a.m.
 

Nutrition and Healthy Living Programs

Nutrition and healthy living programs are led by our team of nutrition educators. In these classroom-style classes, participants learn tips and tricks to eating and feeling better.

Don’t skip the party just because you’re afraid you can’t – or won’t – stick to your healthy eating plan! If your goal is to eat healthy and exercise this holiday season, it’s easy with a little planning and know-how. Find out how during this class. 
 
Eat Healthy, Be Active
  • Do you want to learn how to stretch your food dollar and plan healthy meals for you and your family?
  • Would you like to learn how to prepare and sample creative and nutritious new dishes?
  • Do you want to learn and practice how to be active in ways that YOU enjoy?
Eat Healthy, Be Active is a six-session program that will help you get healthier. We offer a daytime or an evening session every month.  The program is FREE and three of the six times class meets, participants get to take home free groceries to prepare what they sampled in class. This class is for adults over age 18. We provide free child care. Class participants who are on Medicaid or who have a Michigan Bridge Card (SNAP) are accepted into the class first. Call Caroline Walker at 269-639-2949 for more information or specific dates and times.


Healthy Cooking Demonstrations 

Healthy cooking demonstrations are held monthly in our onsite test kitchen. Participants watch our team of nutrition educators prepare a healthy meal. Following the demonstration, all participants have the opportunity to taste the food. The goal of healthy cooking demonstrations is to equip participants with the knowledge and ability to create tasty, nutritious meals in your own home.

Quick and Healthy Pasta
Tuesday, October 17, 6:30 to 8 p.m.
$10 members, $15 non-members
Learn to prepare three tasty pasta dishes that are full of heart-healthy ingredients.
 
Cook to Lower Your Cholesterol
Tuesday, November 7, 6 to 8 p.m.
$20 members, $25 non-members
If you’re trying to improve your health, this class is for you!  Learn to plan, shop for, and prepare three delicious heart-healthy meals.
 
Super Food Soups
Tuesday, December 2, 6:30 to 8 p.m.
$20 members, $25 non-members
Learn how to prepare three mega-healthy soups that are loaded with disease-fighting, immune-system boosting, super food ingredients. Leave with five healthy soup recipes.
